The BEF is run by a Board of Directors, led by Celeste Foster, Executive Chairman.  The Board comprises of entrepreneurs and professionals from the wider business community.


The activities of the BEF are organized around 5 Pillars led by Pillar or Project Champions.  The Project Champions have responsibility for developing and executing projects in relation to the goals of each Pillar.  The Pillars and their Project Champions are listed below.

Biographies


Celeste Foster is the co-founder and Managing Director of the ACR Group, a provider of BPO services locally and internationally, since 2000. A past President of the Small Business Association, Celeste is committed to creating an eco-system for entrepreneurship to grow and thrive in Barbados and the region. She has worked with many national and regional SME development organizations including YES, the BYBT and the Caribbean Association of SMEs (CASME).

Dr. Jeannine Comma is Managing Director of Leadership Development Specialists, her consulting practice which specialises in Organization Development initiatives. She is the former CEO and Director - Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management – UWI, Cave Hill. Jeannine is a results-driven leader with strong abilities to set direction, develop and implement initiatives, garner a targeted outcome and leverage human capital for organizations. Dr. Comma is a  member of the boards of Sagicor Life Inc,  International Women’s Forum (Barbados) and Errol and Nita Barrow Educational Trust.

Melanie Jones, lawyer and partner at Lex Caribbean, leads the firm's International Business Group and its Entrepreneurial Business Unit. A committed social entrepreneur, Melanie sees her work in this area as "her other job". As such she meets and mentors extraordinary people in business and the cultural and creative industries.

David Simpson is the Founder of Prestige Accounting Inc., a Fellow of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a Fellow and former president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB). He is currently a Director of Fortress Fund Managers in Barbados and Director/Treasurer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean.

Keith Miller is the co-owner of Miller Publishing and Caribbean Business Publications - producers of the acclaimed 'Ins & Outs of Barbados' and 'Business Barbados'. The Millers are winners of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year for Tourism; the Minister of Tourism’s Special Award for Contribution to the Development of Tourism in Barbados; and the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ryan Forde is an avid athlete & coach, entrepreneur and volunteer enthusiast who believes that everyone in the world has a part to play in making the world a better place. His way is through healthy and fun relations and offering his talents to the younger generation.

    He is an honor graduate of Barcelona Business School (UIBS) where he obtained an Undergraduate degree in International Business with a minor in Tourism Management. He also obtained a Masters degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management from EADA Business School. He holds the honor of being the first Barbadian to be accepted and graduated from the Elevator Management Trainee program for Hilton Worldwide which has trained him as a manager across multiple brand hotels and departments within Hilton and throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.

     Ryan has a background of 10 years in Tourism & Hospitality Management, spreading various management roles and training programs while executing numerous revenue earning projects alongside senior director leadership personnel and regional teams.

Ryan is Co-owner and Managing Director of Caribe Future Development Inc. which focusses on enhancing the development of Barbados’s services through online portals, futuristic companies as well as viable tourism related projects. His first business is BimEats which launches in Summer 2020 and will offer online restaurant, grocery and wholesale delivery across Barbados.

 

Susan Branker Greene has over 20 years in leadership and management positions. Her rich professional experience spans the public, private and NGO sectors, including serving as a Senior Business Development Officer at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Business Development in Barbados, Regional Director for the Caribbean Management Development Association and Regional Programme Director at the Caribbean Centre for Development Administration’s Caribbean Support Initiative Programme Management Unit.

     Susan is a British Chevening Scholar, who holds a Master of Science in International Relations from the University of Southampton in the UK and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus.  

Susan is passionate about developing people and organisations to maximize performance while leaving a sustainable footprint. 

     She was a part-time clinical faculty member at The University of the West Indies, Sagicor Cave Hill School of Business and Management in Barbados for five years where she was a facilitator for the Executive EMBA programme and also served as a strategic business services consultant and corporate trainer on leadership development, strategic planning, change management and organisational behaviour.

     During her ten year tenure as a Regional Programme Director, Susan worked extensively and intimately with both the public and NGO sector across the Eastern and wider Caribbean.  She managed numerous technical cooperation interventions as well as grant funding from the Bernard Van Leer Foundation to NGOs and Government.

Beyond this, Susan has provided thought leadership and managed many assignments in the field of developing fit for purpose results-based monitoring and evaluation systems for Caribbean organisations and Governments.

     Susan Branker Greene is a seasoned international development practitioner and evaluator who is the Principal Consultant and Managing Director of Targeted Development Consulting Inc. (www.tdcworks.com), a boutique-consulting firm established in 2012 and specialising in Monitoring and Evaluation, Programme Management and Organisational Development and Leadership.
